With all these health benefits you should immediately reach for a cup of “Golden Milk” – a very popular Indian drink made with milk and Turmeric. Here’s how:
½ cup to 1 cup of full cream milk of your choice
1 tsp Turmeric
1 small piece of fresh, grated ginger or ½ tsp ginger powder
½ tsp cinnamon powder
pinch of ground black pepper
1 tsp honey (optional)
1 tsp MCT oil or coconut oil (optional)
Mix ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour through a sieve and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.
It’s a wonderful spice to add to just about any dish – eggs, meat, soups, rice and vegetables. Add to smoothies or mix with olive oil for a spicy salad dressing. Mixed with castor oil it even acts as a detoxifier when applied to the skin by pulling out harmful toxins.
A golden oldie for today!
