Our Philosophy

The Caveman Clinic specializes in returning bodies to their original state of primal, healthy, fat-burning machines. Our bodies have mostly stayed the same during the past 160,000 years. What did change, however, are the insane substances we've been putting into our mouths and the ever-increasing exposure to environmental toxins. Convenience is killing our society with an abundance of food all year round. You can have anything delivered to your doorstep in less than an hour, and you literally just need to lift a finger! We don't move unless we really have to, sitting indoors all day in air-conditioned rooms and offices and exposed to unnatural light that messes up your hormones.

 

We eat on the run. And we don't eat real food. Processed and packaged food is quick and easy to come by from the nearest store or garage. Because of a highly stressed, unnatural lifestyle, our families become overweight and unhealthy, struggling with metabolic challenges like excess body fat, high blood pressure, insulin resistance and diabetes, harmful cholesterol markers, cardiovascular disease, chronic anxiety and a vast number of autoimmune diseases.

 

We sadly only get the message when the condition disrupts our lives, and we become so ill that we are forced to do something about it.

Unfortunately, we don't take responsibility for our own health. We pass the bucket to our well-meaning doctors, who prescribe chronic medication that sometimes creates even more issues and side effects.

 

But we can help!

 

Our program's philosophy is based on Customized Lifestyle intervention. Our holistic approach focuses on:

  • Nutrition - Using whole foods as medicine at particular times creates a specific result.

  • Movement - The type of exercise you'll enjoy that's the most beneficial for your body.

  • Education - Teaching you why you do what you do will make it easier to implement this permanently.

  • Other lifestyle procedures we implement specific to your goals include sleep training, breath work, meditation, grounding, cold water training and sun exposure.

 

Every program we design is unique to the individual. You will be guided throughout the program and assessed every week.

The Foundation of our Programmes

nutritional
education

We will teach you the following:

  • How to heal your gut and digestive system with primal eating and fermented foods.

  • How to incorporate supplements.

  • The power of food as medicine.

  • The suitable nutritional approach for your individual needs.

  • Busting myths on different diets and weight-loss approaches.

  • Ketogenic plans and how and when your body goes into ketosis.

  • Stress, the effects on your health and weight loss and how to manage it.

  • Periods of fasting from food and the right time to do it.

  • How to balance your hormones during your menstrual cycle with 'deep' nutrition.

support & account-ability

  • Your initial assessment can be done with your coach, or to speed things up, you can do our online assessment.

  • We meet our clients weekly to weigh, measure fat percentage, and discuss challenges

  • We adapt the programme continuously as you progress on your journey. For example, your programme might differ significantly from your spouse’s, as we all have different factors influencing it.

  • We send you podcasts weekly to encourage and equip you on the theory behind our programmes.

  • You can always get hold of your coach via WhatsApp, email or phone for support

  • We come to your house, office, gym or venue of choice.

training

  • Our primal approach to movement means you will receive a functional training programme. Training holistically means we don’t isolate muscle groups unless necessary (for rehab purposes). We teach your muscles to work together and your central nervous system to coordinate your muscles to work together

  • Mobility is essential and is included in all our programmes.

  • Personal training can be done at your home, office or one of our facilities.

  • We will send you a daily workout if you prefer to train alone. You must complete this workout and send feedback after training to qualify for the next one. 

lifestyle intervention

  • We will help you manage stress and increase immunity through meditation and mindfulness.

  • We incorporate breath work in all our Lifestyle programs.

  • Sleep hygiene and management are vital to your immune system. Our therapists will assist you to get the most out of your pillow.

  • For clients with serious diseases, we have natural medicine and expert doctors to help you do this the organic way if you choose.

  • We teach you the principles of essential oils and how to use them.
